Full Fees Scholarship at CCSS
CCSS is proud to announce a new scholarship for the
2008/9 academic year, offered to a boy or girl from a local maintained
sector school (Cambridge only), who wishes to study AS and A-Levels
at CCSS with the aim of entering a UK university. The scholarship
is named after one of our three founders, Paul Redhead, whose vision
along with the joint founders, Hilary Kirby and Alan Dawson, helped
establish CCSS in 1981.
The scholarship is worth 100% remission of fees, currently
£5060 per academic term (£15180 annually), over two
years of study.
The scholarship is also supported by the current students
of CCSS. The Student Council is willing to consider help with travel
and additional expenses on a needs basis.
The following criteria
should be met for the award to be made:
1. The applicant must have the full support
of the recommending school, supported by positive parental reports;
2. The applicant, through interview, school record and school recommendation,
must demonstrate a positive match to the published values of CCSS,
and must demonstrate the potential to contribute positively to the
wider life of CCSS through documented examples of student leadership;
3. Parents will be asked to complete a means test form and provide
validating documentation. Parents will also be required to furnish
information annually regarding their current financial circumstances.
Joint parental annual income should not normally exceed £30000;
4. Candidate students and their parents will be invited to visit
CCSS, meet staff, tour the facilities and the student to undergo
interview;
5. Minimum academic requirements are the equivalent of 5+ good GCSEs
(grade C or higher);
