CCSS Boarding Houses - safe and supportive places to live and work


Our own Boarding Houses not only provide a safe place for students to live and work, but also enable the development of important skills such as getting on with others, and striking the right balance between work and leisure. They are staffed 24/7 by our House Managers which means they are always available to help and advise students as necessary.

All student rooms feature a study area and internet connection are many have en-suite facilities.

The Stables

The Stables is a large, recently renovated, former coach-yard about five minutes’ walk from the College. The house has 13 bed-study rooms with free broadband Internet access, plus accommodation for the team of House Managers. There is a common room with colour TV, digital TV receiver and DVD player, and facilities for making tea, coffee and snacks.

59 St Barnabas

59 St Barnabas Road is a large, Victorian house about five minutes from the College. The house has 13 bed-study rooms with free broadband Internet access, plus accommodation for the House Managers. There is a common room with colour TV, digital TV receiver and DVD player, and facilities for making tea, coffee and snacks.

Hope House

Hope House

Hope House is a modern purpose-built student house 10 minutes’ walk from the College and very close to Cambridge city centre and the famous Botanic Garden. The house has 27 bedrooms with telephones and broadband Internet access, plus accommodation for the House Manager. There is a common room with colour TV, DVD player and Freeview box and facilities for making tea, coffee and snacks. There is a large, enclosed garden and covered space for students’ bicycles.

Batim House

Batim House is a modern, purpose-built student house 10 minutes’ walk from the College and very close to Cambridge city centre. The house has 26 bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, telephones and free broadband Internet access, plus accommodation for two House Managers. There are two common rooms with colour TV, digital TV receiver and DVD player, and facilities for making tea, coffee and snacks. There is a small, enclosed garden and covered space for students’ bicycles.

Scholars House

Scholars House

Scholars House is a modern, purpose-built student house situated close to the College – about six minutes’ walk from the teaching buildings and close to Cambridge city centre. The house is separated into two buildings, one for boys and one for girls, with 28 students in each. All rooms have en-suite facilities, telephones and free broadband Internet access. There is also accommodation for the team of House Managers. There are several common rooms with colour TV, digital TV receiver and DVD player, and facilities for making tea, coffee and snacks. Scholars is designated for older students.
