Excellent A levels 2008 Sept. 1, 2008
2007-2008 academic year has been another successful year for CCSS students. The overall pass rate in the A-level examinations was 99.6 per cent and 67 per cent of the pupils achieved A-C grades.
Unlike many schools, CCSS is non-selective and therefore we are very proud of these results. Students come to us with different backgrounds and abilities, but all of them benefit from the individual approach and supportive environment at the college
Emily Douglas got an “A” in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. “I never thought I could get three As but Mr and Mrs Jarman showed me that I can!”, commented Emily.

Fay Robinson has been studying English Literature, History and Law. She has been awarded with three “A” grades. “The start of my school life in CCSS was not an easy one for me, as I originally come from Barbados and suffered home-sickness and quite a culture shock when I first arrived. In addition, I arrived to school 6 weeks late. Yet, the teaching I received was excellent and I had a lot of support from the staff here at CCSS, making it easer for me to catch up on the work I had missed in the first half of term. I worked really hard so I am very proud to receive these results.”

Annastazia Learoyd has received two “A”s for Maths and Biology and “B” for Chemistry. “Having overcome dyslexia, hearing impairment and a disrupted early education (I went to four schools by the time I was ten due to my dad’s job), I feel proud of my achievements and I am looking forward to going to university next year.” said Annastazia.

Neil Roskilly, Principal, said, 'these are a super set of results, reflecting the hard work of the pupils and the dedication of our staff. All have got into their chosen universities and we are delighted with their success. Young people have so many things to think about these days and I find their achievements quite remarkable.'
