Guide for parents and students
This guide has been written for our parents and students. It is a source of reference to cover many of the questions asked by parents and most of the situations that students may encounter.
Policy on child protection
Sets out approaches and responsibilities in ensuring that the College fulfils its obligations in law to identify and protect children who may be at risk.
Policy to protect against bullying
Describes and explains how the College provides an environment in which bullying is minimised, and how any instances are dealt with.
Policy on how the College deals with drug-related issues
Describes the College's approach to student education and explains how the College responds to any concerns about possible drug use by any member of the College.
Policy on student discipline
Describes the College's expectations on aspects of student behaviour, how it deals generally with breaches of College rules and how it handles breaches which are serious enough to warrant exclusion.
Policy on dealing with complaints
Describes how the College deals with any concerns or complaints raised by parents, students and others. Any concerns and complaints are always brought to the attention of the Principal and CCSS will deal openly and honestly with any issues raised, in the spirit of wanting to do even better in everything we do.
Policy on the provision of teaching English as a second language
Describes the considerable support the College can provide to students who are not native speakers of English, and explains our policies in the provision of ESL teaching.
Policy on Special Educational Needs (SEN)
CCSS, in line with the SEN Code of Practice 2001, the Disability Discrimination Act and the College’s statement of values, undertakes to make full and proper provision for students with special education needs and other disabilities, where it has the resources to do so.
This document supplements the information available in our prospectus and guide for parents and students, and is available to parents upon request.

This file brings together a range of documents which all relate to making trips away from CCSS safe and enjoyable.
This policy concerns admissions of students applying for GCSE and A-level courses and should be read in conjunction with the CCSS Prospectus and other policies. The policy applies to both boarding and day places at CCSS.
