Start your A Levels in January

Why wait until September? Our five-term A Level courses start in January 2018 and finish with examinations in June 2019, which means you can start university in September or October 2019.

The course covers all the A Level specification in a shorter time. In your first two terms, you will receive extra teaching to allow you to catch up with those that started in September.

As well as having additional separate intensive lessons, you will also benefit from being integrated into classes with students on the two-year programme. This makes it easy to integrate fully into the college, to make lots of friends and to enjoy the advantages of the CCSS intensive teaching approach.

Your reward for working more intensively is saving a full term’s fees, effectively giving you a scholarship for hard work!

As in all CCSS classes, five-term course students will benefit from our small class sizes and individual approach to support. This is so you can learn quicker and better and gain all the confidence you need for University studies.

Current five-term A Level courses include:

  • Art
  • Biology
  • Business
  • Chemistry
  • Economics
  • English
  • Geography
  • Maths
  • Physics
  • Psychology

Why CCSS?

CCSS is an established independent college providing day and boarding places for ambitious young people from the UK and internationally. For over 35 years we have been helping students progress to the very best universities.

Small class sizes (6-8 students)

The small group teaching environment allows for greater engagement with the teachers, each student is given individual attention and can develop at their own pace. Our results show that students benefit greatly from our small class sizes, the teachers are able to bring all students into group discussions and conversations allowing the students to gain confidence and progress to their full potential. This support means that the overwhelming majority of CCSS students choose to successfully continue their learning at universities in the UK and abroad.

Excellent boarding

Our boarding houses are some of the best available anywhere. Ensuite rooms in the best addresses in the centre of Cambridge and staffed by well‑trained professionals whom students know well, and whose first priority is the care and support of our boarding students.

Central Cambridge location

CCSS is located in the heart of academic Cambridge and we ensure that our wonderful location is used to full advantage by our students, encouraging them to make full use of the academic, social and cultural opportunities that are available to them.

Enrichment activities – A true Cambridge experience

As our buildings are in central Cambridge CCSS can provide the true Cambridge experience of culture, intellect and enjoyment. From cinema to science lectures at Cambridge University, basketball to language clubs, we offer an enormous range of educational and social activities.

Guy profile

Name: Guy

Nationality: British

Course: Five-term A Level – English Literature, Photography and History

“I chose to study at CCSS as I had moved from the UAE where my school had a variation of nationalities, and at CCSS I am in that same environment, allowing me to be more aware and knowledgeable of foreign cultures.

I am studying English Literature, Photography and History A Levels in order to cater to my interests as well as my future aspirations. Moreover, these subjects activate my creative ability as well as my ability to do more mentally challenging subjects. I feel that the teachers at CCSS are properly guiding me through the subjects, they teach with passion for their subject in turn making me more passionate. Moreover, they are kind and listen to any issues. When I or another student has a question they are given a sincere answer. Or when something is done wrong, rather than being told just that, they are given constructive criticism.

At university I hope to study Film Production, which will lead to a career as a Cinematographer.”
