Helen went directly into the City after A-levels and gained experience in various roles within investment banking. An interest in the mathematics used to model risk management solutions resulted in a move into software development and working for several years as a business analyst and project manager on Financial IT projects in London, Berlin and Stuttgart.
Helen returned to the UK and took a career break to focus on her young family during which time she studied for a degree in Mathematics and Statistics with the Open University. Having graduated with first class honours, Helen completed her PGCE at Cambridge University and worked at a state school in Essex where she progressed from NQT to Head of Mathematics. Helen joined CCSS in September 2015, taking on the role of Head of Faculty in April 2017. She enjoys developing and using resources which scaffold understanding for students enabling them to appreciate the links between different mathematical topics.
Helen is married to Stephen; they enjoy walking, camping and skiing whilst spending time with their children Georgina (19) and Tristan (16).
